MESSAGE FROM MS.STAROSTECKI


We hope you have a great summer and we look forward to seeing everyone again in September!  You will receive an email from your child’s new teacher in August.

The first day of school is on Tuesday, September 4.  This will be a full day. Please call the school if your child is going to be absent that first morning. This is very important as we juggle changes in our registration numbers on that first day.

School supply information can be found on our website at    http://rbes.blackgold.ca/parents/school-supplies/   You can order packages throughout the summer, however, there is an additional charge of $5 after August 1, 2018.

Housekeeping Reminders: We have had a lot of practice for our Christmas Concert throughout the week but please be sure to practice the songs with your child. Check their book bags for the lyrics for "Frosty the Snowman" ( https://youtu.be/u0QqQNIpeiw ) and "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas"  ( https://youtu.be/VGLGJV01C0Q ) Take the weekend to get plenty of rest, we have a busy week coming up! If your child is not feeling well on Monday please keep them at home so they are feeling their best for the Christmas Concert! Shortly before school starts (late August) you will receive an email from your child’s new teacher letting you know what to expect in September in their classroom.  We will have a Meet the Staff  BBQ Event for all of our families on Thursday, August 29 from 4:00 to 5:30 pm.  The first day of school for Grade 1-4 students is September 3, 2019. Reminders SOCKTOBER: Robina Baker Elementary School is collecting socks for Youth Empowerment Support Services. The socks need to be brand new (no used ones). Thank you, in advance, for your participation. Field Trip October 25, You can pay online via Powerschool. R.E.D. Reading Log: Please remember to fill out the reading log EACH TIME you read a book with your child. Our classroom's goal is reading 5 books per week. Each time they read 5 books in a week I will put their name in for the draw for 2 tickets to Laser City. Other: Grade 1C will be able to check out the Book Fair on Monday, October 24th at 12:45-1:15pm. Alberta Art Gallery Field Trip is on Tuesday, October 25th. The cost of the field trip is $19.
