Week 15

Classroom Updates Meet our Classroom Elf..... TWINKLE !  Twinkle was caught zip lining in our classroom! She fell into a pile of snow and had to take a marshmallow bath! Twinkle tried to put a puzzle together! Congratulations to our   Student of the Week ! Phew! Our Friday was busy but we had a fantastic time painting a Christmas mural with Mrs. Potter's Grade 4 class! Reminders   Please bring in your R.E.D. folder on Monday. There will be no R.E.D. folders sent home during Christmas Break.  Our  Winter Seasonal Walk  is scheduled for Thursday, December 22nd from 1-3pm (weather permitting).  PJ and Stuffie Movie Day is on Friday, December 23rd . Language Arts I read the book, The Wild Christmas Reindeer by Jan Brett  to 1C this week. Our phonological awareness activities revolved around the book.  In this book, Santa has asked Teeka to get the reindeer ready for Christmas Eve, only this means rounding them up from the wild Arctic

Housekeeping The Grade 1's did an amazing job at the Christmas Concert! It was a long week for them but they pulled through! Here are some pictures of 1C the night of the concert:   Congratulations to our Student of the Week ! Reminders: Author Visit for the Grade 1s & 2s on Tuesday, December 13th. Language Arts I read the book,  Too Many Toys!  by  David Shannon  to 1C this week. Our phonological awareness activities revolved around the book.  The book is about a boy named Spencer who has too many toys. His mom falls over them, his dad trips over them, there are toys absolutely everywheere in the house. His mom and dad say it is time to give some of them away. Housekeeping Reminders: We have had a lot of practice for our Christmas Concert throughout the week but please be sure to practice the songs with your child. Check their book bags for the lyrics for "Frosty the Snowman" ( https://youtu.be/u0QqQNIpeiw ) and "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas"  ( https://youtu.be/VGLGJV01C0Q ) Take the weekend to get plenty of rest, we have a busy week coming up! If your child is not feeling well on Monday please keep them at home so they are feeling their best for the Christmas Concert! Grade 1/2 Christmas Concert on  Wednesday, December 7th  at 1:10pm and 6:30pm. Last day for Christmas Elves donations is  Thursday, December 8th . Scholastic December Book Order is due  December 9th!
