MESSAGE FROM MS. STAROSTECKI If you have not already done so, please send a pair of headphones for your child. 1C will be learning how to use Chromebooks on Wednesday. The headphones will be kept in a safe place in the classroom. The students need to have headphones while they are using the Chromebooks. Also, on the inside cover of your child's agenda you will also notice a green strip of paper. This paper contains your child's log in information for Mathletics. This is an awesome website if you would like your child to practice their math skills during their screen time at home. The students will learn how to log into their Mathletics account next week.  REMINDERS NO SCHOOL  on  December 1st  (PD Day).  KIDS CHRISTMAS PAINT DAY  on  December 3rd . Week 14

Housekeeping The Grade 1's did an amazing job at the Christmas Concert! It was a long week for them but they pulled through! Here are some pictures of 1C the night of the concert:   Congratulations to our Student of the Week ! Reminders: Author Visit for the Grade 1s & 2s on Tuesday, December 13th. Our Winter Seasonal Walk is scheduled for Thursday, December 22nd from 1-3pm (weather permitting).  PJ & Stuffie Movie Day is on Friday December 23rd. Language Arts I read the book,  Too Many Toys!  by  David Shannon  to 1C this week. Our phonological awareness activities revolved around the book.  The book is about a boy named Spencer who has too many toys. His mom falls over them, his dad trips over them, there are toys absolutely everywheere in the house. His mom and dad say it is time to give some of them away. Week 5

Phew! What a great end to our week. The Terry Fox Walk was a huge success. The students of 1C will sleep well tonight, we took the long way (oops!). Ms. Starostecki needs to learn her way around Devon. There were a lot of laughs during the walk especially when they started to chant, "Hotdogs, hotdogs, we all scream for hotdogs!" We tracked how many steps we took during the walk and we made about 13 000 steps! Wow!  We needed a little break... Earlier this week, Grade 1C took part in a Bus Safety program. They learned about the rules of the bus, the emergency exits on the bus, and how to be safe around a bus. Congratulations to our Student of the Week! We are so lucky to have you in our class. Lanaguage Arts I sent out the last of the All About Me bags, so this will be the final week. If your child receives an All About Me bag, please follow the instructions and return the bag after the weekend. We will use these bags to learn more about our classm...
